Very little has changed in our lives since our holiday letter last year, so you can look at that as a reminder of what we have been up to: go to this page to see it.
But one fun development is regarding Kelly’s wood sculpture, which has been on display at A-Space Gallery in Silver City for many years. Kelly got a notice from the owner of the gallery that he wanted Kelly to remove all of his work (about ten items) to make room for new work he was expecting. Kelly agreed that this was appropriate, especially since it had not been selling lately.
But where could it go? We don’t have room for all of it at our house, and there were few other galleries in town where it could fit. Sleeping on the question, Kelly realized that what he really wanted was for all of this artwork to find homes where it would be treasured. So Kelly decided to conduct a Holiday Potlatch to give away all of the sculpture.
Kelly contacted the chairman of the Grant County Art Guild where his marquetry has been on display for over a year, and she agreed to send out a notice to all of the members of the Guild, with photos of what was available. Kelly also contacted local friends of his intention. Within about three days all this sculpture had found forever homes!

The first to be claimed was Light in the Woods, by Joshanna Bush, who we have known since we lived in Mexico two decades ago.
Then in quick succession several Art Guild members stopped by the gallery to be united with their gifts.

Our friends Rich and Randi had always loved Mitochondrial Eve, one of my first attempts at wood sculpture, and she found a wonderful new home.

The Art Guild is moving into a new Studio space where they conduct meetings, do workshops, and mount special exhibits, and their board decided to take The Gathering Place, a large table with stools, where people can meet or things can be placed during receptions, etc.

Then as a final wonderful manifesting Lord Enki found a most appropriate place at Avalon Books and Music store in downtown Silver City. Shown here is Emily, the owner of the store, standing next to Enki. Emily is a certified teacher about Enki (an ancient Sumerian God) and she plans to be teaching some courses on this topic this coming year.
